About this tool

The Desk Setup Visualizer helps you plan the perfect multi-monitor layout before you buy. Instead of guessing if a 34-inch ultrawide and a vertical 27-inch monitor will fit on your desk, you can configure them exactly as you want to see their true physical scale.

Unlike basic overlapping calculators, this tool provides a split top-down and front view. You can angle side monitors inward to see how the apparent width changes, and instantly know how much desk depth you have left for your keyboard and mouse.

Front vs Top-Down View

The front view shows you exactly how the screens will look when you are sitting in your chair. The top-down depth map shows how the monitors curve or angle around you, and how much physical depth they consume on your desk surface.

Dual Units

Use the unit toggle at the top right to switch between inches/feet and centimeters/meters. All measurements will instantly update, making it easy to cross-reference dimensions whether you buy furniture from IKEA or a local hardware store.

Check out preconfigured desk setups for dual, triple, and ultrawide configurations.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the physical width of my angled monitor?
When a monitor is angled inward, its physical footprint on your desk (and from a front-facing perspective) is compressed. We calculate this by multiplying the monitor's physical width by the cosine of the angle you choose.
How much desk space do I need for dual 27-inch monitors?
A standard 27-inch 16:9 monitor is roughly 24 inches (61 cm) wide. Side by side flat, they take up 48 inches (122 cm). If you angle them inward at 30 degrees, the total width shrinks to about 44.8 inches (114 cm), fitting comfortably on a standard 48-inch desk.
Will a 34-inch ultrawide and a 27-inch monitor fit on a 60-inch desk?
Yes. A 34-inch 21:9 ultrawide is roughly 32 inches wide, and a 27-inch is 24 inches wide. Flat, they need 56 inches of width. Angling the 27-inch inward reduces the footprint further, leaving plenty of room on a 60-inch desk.
